What Is a Cataract?

The natural lens becomes cloudy, causing blurred vision. Common with age; also linked to diabetes, injury or prolonged steroid use.

  • Blurred or cloudy vision
  • Difficulty at night
  • Glare sensitivity
  • Faded colours
  • Frequent spectacle power changes

Cataract Surgery — The Effective Treatment

The cloudy lens is replaced with a clear artificial intraocular lens (IOL). Usually completed in 15–20 minutes, painless and stitch-less in most cases, as a day-care procedure.

Types of Surgery We Offer

  • Phacoemulsification (small incision, quick healing)
  • Monofocal and advanced monofocal IOLs
  • Toric lenses for astigmatism
  • Multifocal and trifocal options
  • EDOF (Extended Depth of Focus) lenses

Before & After Care

  • Detailed pre-operative examination and lens calculation
  • Post-operative eye drops and follow-up
  • Most patients resume normal activities within days
